St. Mary's School

Ticonderoga, New York

Academics

For our curriculum, we follow the NYS Common Core State Standards for all grades Pre K -8.

The students take all required state exams.  Religion and Christian values permeate the curriculum.  St. Mary's School is extremely proud of its top-notch curriculum, which prepares its students to become leaders in all facets of life.  Although a private institution, we comply with both  New York State and Diocese of Ogdensburg's rigorous standards.  With small classroom sizes and highly qualified and committed faculty, our children rise above the bar to become bright, disciplined, and well-rounded individuals.  There is no question that they are well prepared for high school and beyond, as St. Mary's students regularly rank in the top percentiles of their high school graduating classes.

At St. Mary's, the teachings of Christ permeate every class.  Values of compassion, service, and faith are instilled in our students from a young age.  There exists a seamless transition between academic instruction and the reinforcement of values you teach at home.  In this fast-paced society, it is refreshing to find a safe place where young people can get to know God, while building a strong foundation fit for the "real" world.

Academic Intervention Services

The New York State Education Department has established standards in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science which must be met by all seeking a high school diploma. The State Department has mandated schools to provide Academic Intervention Services (AIS) to students who have not met or are "at risk" academically.
